ANALYSIS OF THE BELIEF OF PEOPLE TOWARDS LOUNG PU KU KAEW OF KU KAEW TEMPLE IN CHAIWAN SUBDISTRICT, CHAIWAN DISTRICT, UDONTHANI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research is the qualitative research by having its purposes, that is, 1) study the belief of people towards Loung Pu Ku Kaew in Ku Kaew temple of Chaiwan Subdistrict, Chaiwan District, Udonthani Province and 2) to analyze the belief of people towards Loung Pu Ku Kaew in Ku Kaew temple in Chaiwan Subdistrict, Chaiwan District, Udonthani Province. The results of the research are found that: The worship as mentioned above is called as material worship. In addition, people of Ku Kaew District prefer to make merits by giving things, preserving precepts, practicing meditation, walking around the church in the holy day and always practicing Dhamma. The festival in the sixth month (Boonbangfaiy) of people in Ku Kaew District is relevant to full moon day of the sixth lunar month in every year. People in Ku Kaew District, and near Districts and people in general directions who have the faith in the sacred of Loung Pu Ku Kaew will participate in the meritorious festival and to take this opportunity to fulfill their vows by majority of people believing that to fulfill the vows with the fire display for worshiping is to make the sacred things located in the Ku Kaew stupa in great deal of pleasure effecting on the people who perform worshiping.
