MODEL OF BUDDHISM PROPAGATION OF THAI BUDDHIST DHAMMADUTA MONKS WAT BUDDHA-METTA OF INDONESIA

Abstract

The objectives of this dissertation were :  1) to examine the concept and principle of the Buddhist propagation of Dhammaduta bhikkhus in Buddhist scriptures and in different countries 2) to examine the Buddhist propagation principle of Dhammaduta bhikkhus in Vihara Buddha Metta Arama Temple, Indonesia 3) to propose the principle model in Buddhist propagation of Dhamma bhikkhus in Vihara Buddha Metta Arama Temple, Indonesia.The concepts and principles of Buddhist propagation of Dhammaduta bhikkhus in Buddhist scriptures and in the other different countries refer to the obligation in Buddhism succeeding of the 4 Buddhist assembly: bhikkhus, bhikkunis, laymen and laywomen, and speeches, instructions, advice, writing, good examples, various activities relevant to social surroundings, individually local traditions and cultures to make people known of Buddhist doctrines and to apply them in living the daily lives with happiness.The principle of Buddhist propagation of Dhammaduta bhikkhus in Vihara Buddha Metta Arama Temple, Indonesia is that the Dhammaduta bhikkhus  have to adapt themselves, their attitudes, thoughts and different approaches to build relationships with every religion, to enhance their knowledge, skills, experiences in Buddhist propagation and effectiveness in other administrations:  1) education—the Dhammaduta bhikkhus have the training project in potential development in law and local cultures 2) social welfare—the Dhammaduta bhikkhus are in charge of the reliant of people physically and mentally 3) culture exchange—the Dhammaduta participate in different activities of temple held and cooperated with other organizations in Indonesia 4) network building—the Dhammaduta bhikkhus in individual centers have to manage and encourage the harmony among laypeople and do their own duties correctly. 5) proactive media—the Dhammaduta bhikkhus have to know how to adapt and use the online media and technology in communication, public relations particularly the Dhamma talks online via Facebook, Line and overseas radio broadcasting etc. and 6) the doctrine conduct—the Dhammaduta bhikkhus conduct the Bhāvana 4: 1) kāya-bhāvanā (physical development
