FOOD SECURITY AND HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT CAPACITY FOR COMMUNITY AND ORGANIZATION IN UBONRATCHATHANI PROVINCE

Abstract

This research entitled on food security and household management capacity for communities and organizations in Ubonratchathani province aims to 1) analyze food security and household management capacity for communities and organizations in Ubonratchathani province 2) examine the impacts of CPTPP participation affecting food security in Ubonratchathani province and 3) propose the guidelines for reinforcing food security in Ubonratchathani province. The study used mixed-methods as the research design. The questionnaires are administrated to 398 samples and 10 persons as key informants are interviewed. It was revealed that 1) Food security and household management capacity for communities and organizations in Ubonratchathani province are secured; it directly relates to the growing agricultural economy. 2) The local have knowledge about CPTPP participation which affects food security in Ubonratchathani province in the moderate level. 3) The guidelines for reinforcing food security in Ubonratchathani province are to promote the food access, to increase efficiency for food production, to enhance the sufficient quantities of food and food quality; managing soil, and water for food production, to conduct the studies of plant varieties and animal breeding amendment, to conduct the prevention and control for plant diseases, animal diseases and fisheries, good agricultural practices (GAP), the varieties of food production including educate on the utilization of food consumption for nutrition and health.
