TEACHERS NEEDS ASSESSMENT FOR DEVELOPING DIGITAL CULTURE IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS PIYAMIT SCHOOL GROUP UNDER THE PATHUMTHANI SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE.

Abstract

This research  aimed to examine the needs of teachers for developing a digital culture in schools of the Piyamit Consortium, under the Office of the Pathum Thani Secondary Educational Service Area Office, classified by educational qualifications, work experience and technology usage experience.  The sample consisted of 214 teachers from the Piyamit Consortium under the Office of the Pathum Thani Secondary Educational Service Area Office. The instrument used to collect data was a 5-level rating scale with 25 items. Content validity was validated with Index of consistency (IOC) ranged between .67 - 1.00 and a reliability value of 0.948. Statistics used in the analysis included mean, standard deviation, and the calculation of Priority Need Index. All five elements of needs for developing a digital culture in schools consisted of 1) collaborative work, 2) readiness for digital risks, 3) digital mindset, 4) data-driven approaches, and 5) focusing on service recipients.  The results indicated that , in all aspects, the mean level of the desired condition surpassed that of the current condition. The overall need for developing a digital culture in schools was high. When individual aspects were considered, the highest Priority Need Index was for focusing on service recipients, followed by collaborative work, readiness for digital risks, digital mindset, and data-driven approaches, respectively.
