EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT DURING COVID-19 OF SCHOOLS UNDER KRABI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to (1) investigate the educational management during Covid-19 of schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office and (2) study problems and solutions on the educational management during COVID-19 of schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office. The sample group consisted of 134 school administrators of schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office. They were selected by using stratified random sampling and simple random sampling by lottery method. Instruments used in this research were 5-level rating scale questionnaire with reliability value of 0.857. Statistics used in this research were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Narrative method was used to analyzed open-ended form. The research found that (1) The educational management during COVID-19 of schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office, in overall, was at the highest level (= 4.65, SD = 0.41). (2) The problems and solutions on the educational management during COVID-19 of schools under Krabi Primary Educational Service Area Office were; (2.1) Problem of operational aspect on safety in schools, it showed the problems including personnel, tools and equipment, budget, and place. The solution was asking for collaboration from the school, the Educational Service Area Office, and public health authorities. (2.2) teaching and learning problems revealed that the teachers lacked a variety of teaching method and appropriate instructional media. Differentiated instruction and various sources of accessing instructional media should be provided. (2.3) Problem of underprivileged children showed that the operation for underprivileged student supports was still ineffective. The teachers should be assigned directly to take care the students and coordinate with families and other related organizations. (2.4) Problems on student welfare and protection, it found that infected students and family members faced social stigma. Providing knowledge about contact channels and risky behaviors of COVID-19 disease to reduce social stigma and discrimination. (2.5) Problems on operation responding to the Educational Service Area Office 's policy found that the students lacked of awareness of physical distancing including bus organization. The students should make an agreement with the transfer providers about pick-up and drop-off strictly. (2.6) Problems on financial management showed inadequate budget planning. The Sufficiency Economy Philosophy should be used in building immunity and participation in resource mobilization.
