THE DEVELOPMENT OF FACTORS AND INDICATORS OF FUTURE WORK SKILLS FOR TEACHERS IN THE 21st CENTURY

Abstract

This research analyzed the components and indicators for future work skills of teachers in the 21st century employing both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. The research was conducted in two phases: Phase 1: Development of Components and Indicators. In this phase, in-depth interviews were conducted with 12 experts selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured interview protocol. and Phase 2: Validation of the Measurement Model. this phase involved validating the measurement model's alignment with empirical data. The sample consisted of 658 teachers, selected through multi-stage random sampling. The results revealed that 1) The future work skills of teachers in the 21st century comprised six components with a total of 21 indicators. The six components were: 1) Data Management Skills, 2) Digital Literacy, 3) Social Skills, 4) Adaptability Skills, 5) Innovation Thinking Skills and 6) Lifelong Learning Skills And 2) The results of the second-order confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the measurement model for 21st-century teachers' future work skills aligns with the empirical data, as assessed through the statistical indices used for model evaluation χ² = 187.781, df = 163, p = 0.089, SRMR = 0.030, RMSEA = 0.015, CFI = 0.985, GFI = 1.000, AGFI = 1.000, and χ²/df = 1.152
