NEEDS FOR INNOVATIVE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS UNDER KHON KAEN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the current situation and desirable condition and 2) to study the needs for the development of innovative leadership of school administrators under Khon Kaen Vocational Education. The sample group used in this study included school administrators and teachers under Khon Kaen Vocational Education with the total number of 263 people. The sample size was determined using Taro Yamane (Yamane 1973) formula with level of error at 0.05 using stratified random sampling method. The research tool was 5-level rating scale questionnaire. The statistics used in this research comprised mean and standard deviation. The research results were found that: 1) The current situation of the development of innovative leadership of school administrators under Khon Kaen Vocational Education, in overall, was found at a moderate level of practice, when considered in each aspect, the aspect with the most average was the risk management, followed by teamwork and participation, while the aspect with the lowest average was the creation of an innovative organizational atmosphere, the desirable condition of Innovative leadership development of school administrators under Khon Kaen Vocational Education, in overall, was found at the highest level, when considered each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was risk management, followed by teamwork and participation, while the aspect with the lowest average was vision of changing. 2) Needs for innovative leadership development of school administrators under Khon Kaen Vocational Education were found that the aspect with the most needs was the creation of an innovative organizational atmosphere, followed by teamwork and participation, vision of changing, the aspect with the least average was creativity and risk management respectively.
