MAHACHULALONGKORNRAJAVIDYALAYA UNIVERSITY, UBON RATCHATHANI CAMPUS IN THE ERA OF THAILAND 4.0

Abstract

This article aimed to study the history of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), Ubon Ratchathani Campus from the past to the present. The study focused on the related documents printed by MCU Ubon Ratchathani Campus on various occasions. The study found that MCU Ubonratchathani Campus could be divided into 4 periods: 1) MCU Ubon Ratchathani Campus 1.0 that was establishing the campus in Mahawanaram Temple’s compound by the two most venerable monks namely: Praratrattanobon (Pim Narato); and Prakittiyanasopon (Somkiet Somkitti); 2) MCU Ubon Ratchathani Campus 2.0 that was relocating the campus from the temple’s compound to be in a public forest at Kasob Sub-district; 3) MCU Ubon Ratchathani Campus 3.0 that was assimilating community forest to be the university campus; and 4) MCU Ubon Ratchathani Campus 4.0 that was enhancing MCU Ubon Ratchathani Campus to be the center of studying Buddhism and modern science.
