Political Ethics in the 21st Century: Opportunities and Challenges
Main Article Content
Abstract
The intention of this academic article is to reflect upon the meaning and significance of political ethics in the 21st century by exploring the opportunities and challenges arising in the rapidly changing global context. The world in the 21st century is facing increasingly complex challenges with widespread impacts, including economic problems, social inequality, political inequity, and the challenges posed by technological changes. These situations are crucial factors pressuring governments and politicians to adhere strictly to ethical standards to build public trust. Thus, political ethics play a vital role in reducing power and resource disparities, promoting fair decision-making, and establishing transparency within society. The pressing need to enhance political ethics in the future is not only at the governmental level but also extends to the development of tools and mechanisms that enable full public participation in political oversight and decision-making. In order for political ethics to be successfully strengthened in the future, there must be reforms and the development of mechanisms that promote transparency, accountability, and justice across all sectors of society.
