The Implementation of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in Contemporary Society: A Philosophical Analysis

Abstract

            This study aimed to (1) analyze the principles of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, (2) examine the implementation process of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in contemporary society, and (3) synthesize a philosophical model of its implementation. The study employed philosophical research methodologies, including Socratic dialectics, hermeneutic interpretation, and reflexive analysis. The findings revealed that the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy was a process-oriented philosophy consisting of moderation, reasonableness, and self-immunity, which could be applied at all levels. Its implementation was characterized as a dynamic process involving learning, participation, and continuous adaptation within contemporary social contexts. The findings also indicated that such implementation was consistent with postmodern middle-path philosophy. The synthesis resulted in an implementation model that emphasized inner development as a foundation for outward transformation, leading to a sharing-oriented society and sustainable development.
