Cooperative Learning with STAD in Social Studies for Grade 10 Students at Wat Phaidam School, General Education, Singburi Province

Abstract

            This study had the objectives 1) to compare the learning achievement in social studies before and after cooperative learning with STAD for grade 10 students at Wat Phai Dam School, General Education, Singburi Province, and 2) to examine the satisfaction towards cooperative learning with STAD in social studies among grade 10 students at Wat Phai Dam School, General Education, Singburi Province. This is experimental research using a one group pretest-posttest design. The population comprised grade 10 students who studied at Wat Phai Dam School, General Education, Singburi Province, The sample included a group of grade 10 students 21 people who are studying in the first semester of the 2025 academic year obtained through cluster random sampling. Research Instruments The instruments used in this research included:Lesson plans for Social Studies using the STAD cooperative learning technique, focusing on “Civics, Culture, and Living” for Grade 10 students., A 30-item objective pre-test and post-test to measure academic achievement., A satisfaction assessment form regarding the implementation of the STAD cooperative learning technique in Social Studies for Grade 10 students at Wat Phai Dam School (General Education Department), Sing Buri Province.Research FindingsThe results.

            The results of the study were as follows 1) cooperative learning with STAD in Social Studies for grade 10 students at WatPhaiDam School, General Education, Singburi Province, showed a pre-test of 30 items with a mean score of 12.86, and a post-test of 30 items with a mean score of 24.33. This reflects that the post-test scores for Social Studies taught using cooperative learning with STAD for grade 10 students at WatPhaiDam School, General Education, Singburi Province, were significantly higher than their pre-test scores at a statistical significance of .05. This is in line with the research hypothesis. 2) The overall satisfaction of Grade 10 students with cooperative learning with STAD was at a high level in all aspects (X =3.88, S.D. = 0.80) respectively.
