Abstract
The book "Chitwang" by Buddhadasa Bhikkhu compiles teachings and discourses emphasizing living and working with an " Chitwang" (empty mind). This refers to a mind free from greed, anger, delusion, and attachment to the self. Presented in an accessible and engaging style, the book offers practical insights that can be applied to everyday life. Its content explains the concept of "empty mind," rooted in the teachings of the Buddha, based on the Buddhist principle: Nibbānaṃ Paramaṃ Suññaṃ ("Ultimate emptiness is Nibbana"). The approach clarifies that an empty mind does not imply a lack of thought but rather a state of detachment from the ego and self-centeredness. This concept has been adapted in form and practice to suit the modern era, evolving into a reformative approach to Theravāda Buddhism within the context of Thai society. The book serves as a tool to help readers attain happiness in work and life through a balanced and empty mind.
