SCOUTS AND THAI EDUCATION

Abstract

Scouts is a youth education movement because it aims to develop the potential of individuals in terms of brain to make children intelligent, develop physically to have a healthy body and develop mentally to be moral, think and do good things. This is to be a good citizen. Scout activities are one of the activities to develop learners according to the Basic Education Core Curriculum, which aims to develop discipline, good leadership, responsibility, teamwork, problem solving, appropriate decision-making, reasoning, helping and sharing, caring and unity. Students must have a passing evaluation in learner development activities in order to graduate according to the graduation criteria. In the management of scouting education, the person who will perform the duty is the scoutmaster. Before being able to perform the duty, it is very important to develop the ability to perform the duty of a scoutmaster first. The person who will be appointed as a scoutmaster or the person who will teach scouts must pass the training of scouting personnel at various levels in order to achieve the objectives of the curriculum. Therefore, teachers in educational institutions that have a curriculum of student development activities, scouting activities, girl guides, Red Cross youth, volunteer work, and military cadets must have knowledge and understanding in teaching scouts through training scouting personnel, and apply the knowledge to manage teaching to develop students in accordance with the objectives of the Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551.
