THE DEVELOPMENT OF SINGING ABILITY USING DAVIES’ INSTRUCTION MODEL WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) FOR GRADE 8 STUDENTS

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to compare the music notation reading ability of Mathayom Suksa 2 (Grade 8) students before and after learning through Davies' instructional model for practical skills integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI); 2) to compare the singing ability of Mathayom Suksa 2 students who learned through Davies' instructional model for practical skills integrated with AI against the established criterion of 80 percent; and 3) to compare the singing confidence of Mathayom Suksa 2 students who learned through Davies' instructional model for practical skills integrated with AI against the established criterion of 80 percent. The sample group consisted of 36 Mathayom Suksa 2/4 students  at Kuchinarai School, during the second semester of the 2024 academic year. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling. The research instruments included six music learning management plans using Davies' practical skills instructional model integrated with AI, totaling 12 hours, a music notation reading ability assessment, a singing ability assessment, and a singing confidence assessment. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and t-test. Research findings revealed that: 1) the music notation reading ability of Mathayom Suksa 2 students after learning through Davies' instructional model for practical skills integrated with AI was significantly higher than before learning at the .05 level; 2) the singing ability of Mathayom Suksa 2 students who learned through Davies' instructional model for practical skills integrated with AI was higher than the established criterion of 80 percent; and 3) the singing confidence of Mathayom Suksa 2 students who learned through Davies' instructional model for practical skills integrated with AI was higher than the established criterion of 80 percent.
