GUIDELINES FOR INTEGRATED SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION IN THAI BUDDHIST UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: 1) To study the management of social studies education in Thai Buddhist universities and 2) To present guidelines for integrated social studies education in Thai Buddhist universities. This is qualitative research, conducted through document analysis and interviews with the target group, which consists of 12 social studies curriculum professors. The findings reveal that: 1.The management of social studies education in Thai Buddhist universities includes: 1) Integrating Buddhist principles. 2) Using digital technology. 3) Student-centered teaching. 4) Experiential learning, and 5) Teaching by expert teachers 2. Guidelines for integrated social studies education in Thai Buddhist universities are as follows: 1) Integrating Buddhist principles. 2) Academic integration. 3) Experiential learning. 4) Using technology. 5) Fostering critical thinking. 6) Supporting collaboration, and  7) Lifelong learning.
