THE DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN OF COMPETENCY-BASED LEARNING ANAGEMENT BY USING THE ACTIVE LEARNING PROCESS FOR TEACHERS IN THE SCHOOL TEACHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE NETWORK
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to: 1) develop teachers’ competency-based instructional design using an active learning approach; 2) examine the effects of the implemented instructional design; and 3) evaluate teachers’ satisfaction toward the instructional management. The sample consisted of 60 teachers from the professional teaching practice network schools, selected by purposive sampling. The research procedures comprised three phases: 1) instrument construction and validation, 2) implementation of the instructional design, and 3) evaluation of teachers’ satisfaction. The research instruments included a multiple-choice knowledge test, an assessment form for instructional design thinking ability, an assessment form for lesson plan writing ability, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and a dependent samples t-test. The findings revealed that: 1) the competency-based instructional design was at a high level of appropriateness; 2) the post-implementation results were significantly higher than the pre-implementation results at the .05 level; and 3) teachers’ satisfaction was at a high level.
