Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine the outcomes of implementing a collaborative network development model between entrepreneurs and academic advisors to enhance coaching and mentoring for new-generation entrepreneurs. The researcher applied the collaborative network model developed in Phase 1, which had been evaluated and validated by experts at the highest level, to a real-world implementation. The model comprised three main components: (1) Input factors, including (a) entrepreneurs, (b) learning resources, (c) advisors/mentors, (d) entrepreneurial skills, and (e) network management; (2) Network driving processes, consisting of six steps: (a) forming networks, (b) conducting intra-network activities, (c) developing business plans, (d) implementing business operations, (e) monitoring and evaluation, and (f) business plan review; and (3) Network supervision and monitoring, which involved (a) monthly knowledge-sharing sessions and (b) quarterly performance reporting. The participants in this implementation phase included (1) 50 volunteer undergraduate students, (2) 5 enterprises serving as mentors, and (3) 5 faculty advisors.

The research findings indicate that: 1) five entrepreneurial collaborative networks were successfully established, namely B-Warm Biz, MANAKA & BAO, Pangpuriye, WinkMADD, and The Trio; 2) an information technology management system was developed, comprising essential components such as a mentor–member communication module, an individual communication data storage module, and a scheduling module for advisor–member interactions; and 3) a total of 12 business plans were generated by members of the networks.
