Abstract

This mixed-methods research aimed to develop positive attitudes toward moral behavior among upper secondary school students by implementing six types of thinking-based activities: identifying moral issues, comparative thinking, evaluative decision-making, analytical and interpretative thinking, creative moral behavior camps, and moral storytelling. The target group consisted of 58 students from two secondary schools in Phetchaburi Province, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a 440-item scale measuring moral attitudes across six dimensions: discipline, responsibility, compassion, generosity, honesty, and gratitude. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and an independent samples t-test, while qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis. The research findings revealed that students demonstrated a high level of positive attitudes toward moral behavior. The ranking of mean scores from highest to lowest was responsibility, gratitude, generosity, honesty, discipline, and compassion. The overall mean score was 4.38 with a standard deviation of 0.78. The t-test result (t = 1.001, p = .340) indicated no statistically significant difference between the two schools. This suggests that students consistently exhibited appropriate moral behavior and were able to express and disseminate moral values through creative media in a practical and impactful manner within their communities.
