APPROACHES IN PROMOTING CAREER SKILLS AND EARNING INCOME WHILE STUDYING IN SCHOOL THE OFFICE OF BASIC EDUCATIONAL COMMISSION KAMPHAENG PHET AREA 2

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the current conditions of career skills promotion and earning income while studying of schools under the Office of Kamphaeng Phet Primary Educational Service Area 2, 2) analyze problems and obstacles in promoting career skills and earning income while studying of schools under the Office of Kamphaeng Phet Primary Educational Service Area 2, and 3) propose guidelines for promoting career skill and earning income while studying of schools under the Office of Kamphaeng Phet Primary Educational Service Area 2. The research employed a mixed methods approach. The sample consisted of 335 lower secondary school students, 165 teachers, 44 school administrators, and 205 basic education committee members, selected by multi-stage sampling method. The tools for collecting data were questionnaires, interview forms, and focus group discussion records. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics as mean, standard deviation and content analysis. The research results were found as follows; 1) The current conditions of career skills promotion and earning income while studying of schools under the Office of Kamphaeng Phet Primary Educational Service Area 2 were at a high level overall. 2) Problems and obstacles in promoting career skills and earning income while studying were found in several dimensions, including students, schools, community and society, government policies and support, and technology and innovation. 3) Guidelines for the promotion of career skills and earning income while studying included surveying and analyzing potentials and needs, developing diverse curricula and activities, building networks and collaborations, developing the potential of teachers and personnel, promoting student participation, supporting from parents, evaluation and improvement, and using of technology and innovation.
