Buddhist Leadership for Educational Organization Management in the Digital Age
Main Article Content
Abstract
This academic article, "Buddhist Leadership for Educational Organizations in the Digital Age," aims to study the characteristics of Buddhist leadership in the context of management for educational administrators in the digital era and to develop a process-based model of Buddhist leadership for digital-age educational organizations. This article is a synthesis of concepts, theories, and related research on Buddhist leadership for educational organizations in the digital age. The findings reveal that Buddhist leadership is a practice that harmoniously integrates modern educational administration in the digital age with Buddhist principles (Dhamma). It focuses on developing leaders to possess both virtue and wisdom by applying key principles to the administration of educational organizations. These principles include the Tenfold Path of the Virtuous Ruler (Dasabidha-rājadhamma), the Seven Conditions of a Nation's Welfare (Aparihāniyadhamma), and the Four Bases of Social Solidarity (Saṅgahavatthu).
The study culminates in a diagrammatic process model of Buddhist leadership for educational organizations in the digital age, which consists of five processes: 1. Self-Development: The process of cultivating virtue and wisdom. 2.Relationship Building: Utilizing the Four Bases of Social Solidarity (Saṅgahavatthu) to build trust and support from the team. 3.Organizational Culture Creation: Applying the Seven Conditions of a Nation's Welfare (Aparihāniyadhamma) to foster a culture that promotes participation, learning, and unity. 4.Management and Decision-Making: Integrating the Tenfold Path of the Virtuous Ruler (Dasabidha-rājadhamma) into organizational administration and decision-making. 5.Evaluation and Quality Improvement: A process for ensuring alignment with the dynamic conditions of the digital age, leading to a sustainable educational organization.
