Abstract

This paper aims to study: The Development of Erhu: An analysis of the origin, historical development, and corresponding chronology of the Erhu, tracing its development over time. This forms the basis for a comprehensive, detailed, and in-depth study of Erhu performance art.Erhu Performance Techniques and Styles: An analysis of both traditional and modern Erhu repertoires in terms of their musical forms. This includes examining specific Erhu pieces to summarize the musical style of the Erhu, identifying distinguishing features from other Erhu schools through analysis of melodies, rhythmic patterns, tempo dynamics, playing techniques, and performance styles. This research is at the core of studying Erhu performance art.The Significance and Development of Erhu: An exploration and objective assessment of the existence and development of Erhu. This includes the issues of its dissemination and preservation, evaluated from both historical and current perspectives. By reasonably interpreting its development history and considering contemporary times, this research aims to assess the significance and future positioning of the Erhu, offering practical suggestions for its preservation and sustainable development.
