Factors Influencing Learning Achievement of Thai Language Course on Pratomsuksa 5th Level Students in Small-Sized Schools, Primary Educational Service Area Office Nan 2

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) investigate the factors influencing the academic achievement in Thai language of fifth-grade students in small schools under the jurisdiction of the Nan Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, and (2) examine the relationships between student-related factors, family-related factors, and teacher-related factors with the academic achievement in Thai language among these students. Employing a survey research methodology, the study sampled 302 fifth-grade students from 126 small schools in the 2024 academic year, selected through quota sampling. The research instrument was a validated questionnaire measuring factors influencing Thai language achievement. Data collection proceeded through four stages: obtaining research permissions, coordinating with relevant authorities, verifying data completeness, and conducting both descriptive and inferential statistical analyses. The findings revealed that, overall, the factors influencing academic achievement were rated at a high level, with student-related factors scoring the highest, followed by teacher-related factors and family-related factors, underscoring the significant roles all these factors play in enhancing students’ Thai language performance. Furthermore, Pearson correlation analysis indicated that student, family, and teacher factors were all positively and significantly correlated with academic achievement at the 0.05 significance level, confirming the systematic and substantial influence of these factors within the context of small schools.
