A Study of Biography and Works of Paijitr Supavaree

Abstract

The research article "Biography and Works of Paijit Supavaree" aims to present the results of a study compiling and organizing the biography of Paijit Supavaree and his creative works that reflect society, art, and culture, as well as his contributions to Thai society. The study employs qualitative research methods, collecting data through literature reviews and in-depth interviews with 21 key informants. The results were analyzed using content analysis and interpretation. 

The study found that Ajarn Paijit Supavaree spent his childhood in Ban Mi District, Lopburi Province, living a difficult life where he had to work to support his and his siblings' education. His working life can be divided into four periods: 1) The 1960s, a period of development and creative writing; 2) The 1980s-1990s, a period of integrating "capital", including knowledge, social, and network capital to create comprehensive art projects under "P.D. Promotion" and "fighting" for the film industry; 3) The 1990s-2010s, a period of cross-platform, cross-media, and cross-business work; and 4) The 2000s-present, a period of public service, cultural conservation and preservation, assisting struggling artists, and serving as a special lecturer.

            The values derived from Ajarn Paijit Supavaree's biography and creative works include patience, perseverance, honesty, teaching ideals, emphasis on hometown consciousness and local traditions. Throughout his six-decade career, he wrote approximately 70 radio drama scripts, numerous short stories, documentaries, and articles, created over 100 films, and supported more than 50 artists, singers, and actors in entering the entertainment industry.
