The Emotional Intelligence of School Administrators by Teachers’ Opinions under The Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3

Abstract

This research aimed to study and compare the emotional intelligence of school administrators by teachers’ opinions under the Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, classified by teachers' gender and teachers’ age. The sample was 292 teachers in schools under Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, selected by using stratified random sampling according to the study area. The research instrument was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire with a content validity of 1.00 and a reliability of 0.97. The data were collected and analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Scheffe's pair comparison at a statistical significance level of 0.05. The findings were as follows: 1) The emotional intelligence of school administrators, by teachers’ opinions under the Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, both overall and individual aspects, was at a high level. When considering each aspect individually, all aspects were also rated high. In descending order of mean scores, the aspects were interpersonal relationship skills, self-awareness and self-motivation, emotional and impulse control, decision-making and problem-solving skills, and empathy. 2) The emotional intelligence of school administrators, by teachers’ opinions under the Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, classified by teachers' gender, was overall not significantly different. 3) The emotional intelligence of school administrators, by teachers’ opinions under the Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, classified by teachers’ age, was overall not significantly different.
