ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT OF THE PERSONNEL INT PHITSANULOK MUNICIPALITY, MUEANG PHITSANULOK DISTRICT, PHITSANULOK PROVINCE

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were to study the level of the organizational commitment of personnel in Phitsanulok City Municipality, Mueang Phitsanulok district, Phitsanulok province, and compare the level of the organizational commitment of personnel in Phitsanulok City Municipality, Mueang Phitsanulok district, Phitsanulok province classified by personal factors as gender, age, education level, occupations, work experience, and income. The populations of this research were 983 persons who were personnel in Phitsanulok City Municipality, Mueang Phitsanulok district, Phitsanulok province. The sample size was obtained by Taro  Yamane’s formula. The sample were 284 respondents and were selected by purposive sampling. The tool for data collecting was a questionnaire by surveying. The data were analyzed by frequency, mean, standard deviation, and hypotheses test by t-test and F-test.


          The research findings were as follows:


  1. The     personal     data    of    the respondents revealed that the most was females 146 persons or 51.4 %, males 138 persons  or 48.6 %,  age between 21-30 years old 131 persons or 41.6 %, education level at bachelor degree 130 persons or 45.8 %, they were personnel or temporary employees 200 persons or 70.4 %, work experience between 6-10 years 181 persons or 63.7 %, and income between 15,000-25,000 baht 117 persons or 41.2 %.

  2. The level of the organizational commitment of personnel in Phitsanulok City Municipality, Mueang Phitsanulok district, Phitsanulok province, were, overall at a high level (gif.latex?\bar{X}=3.65, S.D. = 0.43). Considering each aspect individually revealed that all of aspect were at a high level. The highest mean was at  a high level of two aspects full, it was willing and efforts to work for organization at (gif.latex?\bar{X}=3.70, S.D. = .38),  and desire to be a good members of organization  (gif.latex?\bar{X}=3.70, S.D.= .51) , followed by sense of belonging was (gif.latex?\bar{X}=3.66, S.D.= .50), and the least in two aspects were at a high level namely belief, and acceptance of goals and values (gif.latex?=&space;\bar{X}=3.66, S.D.= .50), and royalty and sacrifice for organization (gif.latex?\bar{X}=3.60, S.D. = .42), respectively.

  3. The hypotheses testing revealed that the level of organizational commitment of personnel in Phitsanulok City Municipality, Mueang Phitsanulok district, Phitsanulok province classified by personal factors as gender, age, education level, occupations, work experience, and income were found to have no difference.
