The purposes of this research were 1) to develop a literature-teaching model using SQ4R teaching and digital storytelling, and 2) to study the effects of the literature-teaching model on Thai literary criticism ability and students' opinions of the model. The study was divided into phases according to the research objectives. The experiment lasted for five weeks, including 15 classes. The participants were 40 Grade 7 students from Sarawittaya School in the academic year 2021, selected using the purposive sampling method. The research methodology employed a one-group pretest–posttest design, and the research instruments consisted of a model evaluation form, a lesson plan, a Thai literature criticism test, and a questionnaire regarding students’ opinions of the model. Descriptive statistics and the Mann-Whitney U test were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that the developed literature teaching model, which utilized SQ4R teaching and digital storytelling, had an impact on Grade 7 students' abilities in Thai literary criticism. The model consisted of five components: literary content, learning activities, worksheets, evaluation, and learning resources and tools. The learning process comprised four steps: brainstorming and planning, reading comprehension, analysis, and literary criticism. The results of the teaching model experiment demonstrated that the students' average posttest score for Thai literary criticism ability was significantly higher than their average pretest score at the .05 level.
