EVALUATION OF THE SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS SPECIAL CLASSROOM PROJECT AT SIRIRATTANATHORN SCHOOL APPLYING THE ALKIN EVALUATION APPROACH AS DEVELOPED AT UCLA’S CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF EVALUATION (CSE)

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to; 1) to assess the project system 2) to assess the program planning of project 3) to evaluate the implementation of the project, 4) to evaluate improvement program and 5) to evaluate recognition program. The informants used in the research, (1) 4 executives (2) the project committee number 9 people (3) teachers in the project, 60 people, (4) parents in the project, 68 people, and (5) students in the project, 68 people, a total of 210 people. The research instruments comprised five-rating-scale satisfaction questionnaires. The statistics used in the data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t-test. The results showed that 1) Project system evaluation results in overall image was at the high level and passed the evaluation criteria.  2) Project planning evaluation results in overall image was at the high level and passed the evaluation criteria. 3) Project implementation evaluation results in overall image was at the high level and passed the evaluation criteria. 4)Project improvement assessment results the students in the project developed science and mathematics, while the weak point of the project was the Internet not available 5) The results of the project acceptance assessment found that (1)the achievement in science subjects and mathematics of students in the special science classroom Mathematics higher than academic achievement in science subjects. and mathematics of normal classroom students at the .05 level, (2) average scores on the Basic Educational Test (O-net) of science subjects and mathematics of students in the Science and Mathematics Special Classroom Project which is higher national level both courses (3) the assessment of learners according to the core competency of the curriculum were at a good level, and (4) the students had a scientific mind and a good attitude towards mathematics. Parents and students' satisfaction with the project was at a high level. Concluding that the project acceptance assessment passed the evaluation criteria.
