THE DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS USING CREATIVITY-BASED LEARNING WITH INFOGRAPHICS FOR S31104 HISTORY SUBJECTS OF GRADE 10 STUDENTS AT MUANGPHONPITTAYAKOM SCHOOL

Abstract

The aims of this research were (1) to develop the creative thinking skills of 10th grade students and (2) to enhance their academic achievement through the use of the Creativity-Based Learning Model in the S31104 History subject. The targets included 70% of the total number of students to achieve a minimum pass rate of 70% of the total score. The target group consisted of 36 10th grade students in the second semester of the 2023 academic year at Muangphonpittayakom School, Muang Phon District, Khon Kaen Province. The research methodology employed was Action Research: (1) action tools which included the use of creativity-based learning model together with infographics in eight lesson plans, spread over 16 hours, (2) reflection tools, including forms for recording learning activity results, class observation, interviews, and tests for each operational cycle, and (3) assessment tools for evaluating research results which included the creative thinking ability test and a academic achievement test. The statistical methods used comprised percentage (%), mean (), and standard deviation (S.D.). The research findings were as follows: 1. For creative thinking ability, the group of students achieved an average score of 34.38 out of 40, or 85.94%. with the standard deviation of 3.89. 33 out of 36 students passed the criterion of 91.67%, which was higher than the specified criterion of 70.00% 2. For academic achievement, the group of students achieved an average score of 32.03 out of 40, or 80.07%. with the standard deviation of 2.57. 34 out of 36 students passed the criterion of 94.44%, which was also higher than the specified criterion of 70.00%
