THE STUDY ON MATHEMATICAL MISCONCEPTION FOR PRESERVICE TEACHER KAMPHAENG PHET RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study misconceptions in mathematics of preservice teacher students Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University. The sample group was 60 preservice teacher student is studying in the second semester of the academic year 2022 in the primary education curriculum. The instrument used for data collection was a mathematical test to measure misconception in content of mathematics covering number and operation, measurements, geometry, algebra and statistics and probability. The results of the research revealed that the students had the most misconception in terms of numbers and operations. The misconception related to the sequence of operations at 83.33%. Followed by the algebraic subject, the conceptual aspect involved in converting the form of numbers into relations in the form of equations. And the concept with the least discrepancy was the conceptual content related to the creation of a scaled representation (chart) at 23.33%.
