THE ROLE OF MONKS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO THE PEOPLE IN NAYIA DISTRICT UBON RATCHATHANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the role of monks in community development according to their perspective. of the people in Nayia District Ubon Ratchathani Province To study recommendations and guidelines regarding the role of monks. with community development according to the views of the people In Nayia District Ubon Ratchathani Province. The research findings were as follows: 1. People have a high level of knowledge and understanding about the role of monks in Thai society (= 4.46) 2. The level of the role of monks in community development in the view of the people in Nayia District as a whole. The level of the role of monks in community development in the view of the majority of the people. Accounting for 67.54 %, their views on the role of monks in community development were at a moderate level. Next, there is a high level of viewpoint. and the low level were similar, with the high level having 17.80 percent and the low level having 14.66 percent. When considering each aspect, it was found that the administrative side of the monks Most people had a moderate view of governance, accounting for 60.21 percent, followed by a high view of 24.08 percent and a low level of 15.71 percent, respectively 3. Recommendations regarding the role of monks in community development found that people In Nayia District Ubon Ratchathani Province is of the view that monks should be trained to provide knowledge about Buddhism and morality to the people, followed by monks should strictly perform monastic duties and monks should be role models. in good conduct
