SOCIETY, CULTURE, AND BELIEFS OF THE KAREN: A CASE STUDY OF THE HUAI KASEM COMMUNITY

Abstract

This research aimed to study the social conditions, culture and beliefs of the Karen ethnic group of Huai Kasem, Nong Ya Plong District, Phetchaburi Province, using qualitative research methods by studying documents (Documentary survey) such as documents, journals, research reports, theses, articles, etc. and case studies by conducting in-depth interviews with key informants. 1.The social system, culture and beliefs of the Karen ethnic group in Ban Huai Kasem, Nong Ya Plong District, Phetchaburi Province, demonstrate the relationship between people and supernatural things that reflect the Karen's worldview, from the body down to the mind, which is the cause of behavior in living in balance with the forest or the area in which they live, including living a balanced life, not being careless in order to preserve the spirit of oneself and others.
