DEVELOPED A TRAINING CURRICULUM TO ENHANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF HUMANIZE HEALTH CARE FOR NURSING STUDENTS BASED ON TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING APPROACH

Abstract

This research aims: 1. to study data and needs assessment to develop training curriculum to enhance characteristics of humanize health care for nursing students based on transformative learning approach, 2. to developed a training curriculum and 3. to study the effectiveness of the training curriculum. The research and development method were 3 phases: Phase 1: to study data and needs assessment to develop training curriculum ; Phase 2 : to develop a training curriculum to enhance characteristics of humanize health care of nursing students based on transformative learning approach. and Phase 3 : to study the effectiveness of training curriculum. The sample consisted of 12 nursing students of the second years at Srimahasarakham College were drawn to be the sample by using purposive sampling. Results as follows : The characteristics of humanize health care are composed of three components: 1. Respect for the value and dignity of humanity 2. Service mind and 3. Service based on professional knowledge. Training curriculum structure consists of seven components: Background and importance of course, principles of the courses, purpose of the course, content structure of course, training activity, media and learning resources and evaluation, In the course content structure, there are five learning module : Values of Humanization, Health and humanize health care, Inquiry learning to known, Building real-situational learning experiences and integrating them into future practice. And using the POREC process in training activities. Resulting implementation of training curriculum were found that the average score of the characteristics of humanize health care in post-training is higher than the pre-trained combination and there was a significantly different between the pre-training and post-training means at 0.05 (value z-2.936) and the opinions about the using of the training curriculum were at a high level overall.
