THE EFFECTS OF ORGANIZING CREATIVE ART ACTIVITIES TOWARDS EARLY CHILDHOOD’S FINE MOTOR SKILLS

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to study early childhood’s fine motor skills development after organizing creative art activities and 2) to compare early childhood’s fine motor skills development between pre and post activities of creative art activities. The sample consisted of 18 students of Kindergarten 2, 1 classroom, aged between 4-5 years who were studying at Ban Khamhaad School, Ubonratchathani Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, in year 2019, from the cluster random sampling by sampling unit . The duration of experimentation in the second semester, academic year 2019 was 8 weeks, 3 days a week and 25 minutes a day. The method of experimentation was One group pretest-posttest design. The research instruments included: 1) 24 lesson plans with creative art activities in the level of highest quality, average 4.58 and 2) questionnaires of early childhood, Kindergarten 2’s gross motor skills development with reliability .83. The data was analyzed by the way of percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test dependent Samples.The finding were as follows: 1) For the development of early childhood children’s  fine skills after organizing creative art activities,  the overall ability in using the early childhood children’s fine motor skills, before experiment,  had the average of 18.33. The percentage was at 61.10 of which the ability in using fine motor skills was in a fair level. After the experiment,  the overall ability in using the early childhood children’s fine motor skills had the average of  24.61. The percentage was at 82.03 of which the ability in using fine motor skills was in a good level. 2) The ability in using the early childhood children’s fine motor skills before the experiment had the average of 18.33, and after the experiment,  it had the average at 24.61 which had significantly statistical difference at the level of .01. After organizing creative art activities, the early childhood children had higher development of fine motor skills than the pre-activities. It was in accordance with the research hypothesis.
