A STUDY ON FINANCIAL RATIOS FOR ANALYZING INVESTMENT TRENDS OF MEDIA AND PUBLISHING BUSINESSES IN THE STOCK EXCHANGE OF THAILAND.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) to study the financial position ratios of media and publishing business in the Stock Exchange of Thailand; 2) to study the differences of financial ratios classified by specific type of business of the companies registered in the Stock Exchange of Thailand under the section of media and publishing business; and 3) to compare the average efficiency of the operation in the following aspects: liquidity; profitability; operational efficiency; and financial policy analysis. The companies were classified by business size, business type and the nature of the business. The sampling group was 21 companies in the media and publishing business. The results of financial ratios analysis in 4 aspects were as follows. In comparison with the same period of operation in the previous year, the tendency of the companies’ profits were decreasing and most of the analyzed financial ratios were lower than the average of the media and publishing business that was because online social media were playing a major roles in the public.
