Development of Information Systems for the Administration of Vocational Education Institutions, A Case Study of Khok Samrong Technical College, Lopburi Province.

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) analyze, design, and develop an information system for the administration of vocational education institutions, with a case study of Khok Samrong Technical College, Lopburi Province; 2) validate the information system for educational institution administration; and 3) evaluate the usage of the information system for educational institution administration. The target group and informants in this research consisted of 60 people in total, with a key informant group of 6 people for confirming the quality of the information system. The research instruments included semi-structured interviews, system validation forms, and questionnaires. The statistics used were percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research results revealed that: 1) The planning, analysis, design, and development of the information system for vocational education administration at Khok Samrong Technical College, Lopburi Province, should include various notifications through the system such as meeting notifications, project schedule notifications, and notifications for storing project report files in the system. Data should be stored in PDF format to complete the PDCA work process cycle. 2) The validation of accuracy, appropriateness, feasibility, and usefulness of the information system consisted of 4 aspects: user requirements compliance, functionality according to system design, system usability, and data security. The overall system validation results showed a percentage of 83.33% or higher for all items. 3) User satisfaction with the information system was at a good level overall.
