Buddhist Leadership Indicators of Formal Private School Administrators in the Southern Region of the Gulf of Thailand

Abstract

This research article aimed to 1) study the Buddhist Leadership Indicators of Formal Private School Administrators in the Southern Region of the Gulf of Thailand, and 2) examine the goodness-of-fit and confirm the components of the Buddhist Leadership Indicators of Formal Private School Administrators in the Southern Region of the Gulf of Thailand.
The sample consisted of 940 directors, deputy directors, and managers of private schools in the Southern Region of the Gulf of Thailand. The research instrument was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire, which had an overall reliability (Cronbach's Alpha coefficient) of 0.989, with the reliability of the main components ranging from 0.945 to 0.978. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA).

The research findings revealed that:

1. The Buddhist Leadership Indicators of Formal Private School Administrators
   in the Southern Region of the Gulf of Thailand consisted of 4 main components, 19 sub-components, and 66 indicators. All indicators demonstrated appropriateness from a high to the highest level.


2. The structural equation model of the Buddhist Leadership Indicators of Formal Private School Administrators in the Southern Region of the Gulf of Thailand was strictly congruent with the empirical data (ꭓ² = 17.481, df = 10, p-value = 0.064, GFI = 0.998, AGFI = 0.963, and RMSEA = 0.028). The factor loadings of all 4 main components were positive, ranging from 0.78 to 0.92, with statistical significance at the .01 level. The main component with the highest factor loading was Behave well (0.92), followed by Expertise and Vision (0.91), and Interpersonal relations (0.78), respectively.
