The Four Sublime States of Mind and the Development of Professional Ethics and Educational Innovation in the 21st Century

Abstract
This academic article aims to analyze the essence of the Four Sublime States (Brahma Vihara 4) as a foundation for developing moral education, outlining approaches to enhancing
the professional ethics of teachers and school administrators in the 21st century, and presenting a conceptual framework linking these principles to promoting educational innovation. The research employs a documentary method, synthesizing information from the Buddhist scriptures, academic documents, and modern management theories. The analysis reveals that professional ethical problems and challenges in creating innovation stem from cultural and relational issues within organizations. The application of the Four Sublime States (Brahma Vihara 4), comprising Metta (loving-kindness) and Karuna (compassion), fosters a framework for ethical thinking. Metta (sympathetic joy), Mudita (sympathetic sympathetic joy), promotes a culture of sharing and knowledge growth, and Upekkha (equanimity), emphasizes fairness and impartial learning from failure. The article concludes that school administrators, as moral leaders, must exemplify the application of these principles to create a supportive organizational atmosphere, leading to sustainable educational innovation in the digital age.
