Abstract

This research aimed to: (1) study the body of knowledge related to the development of a Buddhist teaching system based on the Threefold Training (Sila, Samadhi, and Pañña); (2) develop a Buddhist teaching system based on the Threefold Training; (3) assess the problems and needs of the Buddhist teaching system based on the Threefold Training; and (4) propose an evaluation and accreditation system for Buddhist teaching based on the Threefold Training in order to enhance the academic achievement of secondary school students at Phaedam Pittayakom Ratchamangkalaphisek School, Chachoengsao Province. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, integrating quantitative and qualitative research approaches. The population consisted of school administrators, teachers, and students, totaling 243 participants. The sample comprised 154 participants. Research instruments included questionnaires, in-depth interviews with experts, and focus group discussions involving 10 specialists in learning management, social studies, and online instruction. The research findings revealed that: (1) the body of knowledge concerning content, learning activities, learning media, assessment and evaluation, and supportive learning environments integrated with the Threefold Training was rated at a high level; (2) the developed Buddhist teaching system was overall appropriate at a high level; (3) the existing problems in instructional management were at a moderate level, while the needs for system development were at a high level; and (4) the proposed evaluation and accreditation system was feasible and beneficial for developing students’ knowledge, moral values, and life skills, leading to sustainable improvement in academic achievement.
