Human Rights Law and Analysis of the Enforced Disappearance Act in the Roi Kaen - Sarasin Area

Abstract

This research aimed to study (1) the state of human rights law related to the analysis of the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act in the Roi Kaen-Sarasin area; (2) human rights law factors affecting the enforcement of the Act; and (3) the problems and necessity of developing human rights law in the area. The research utilized a combination of

quantitative and qualitative methods. The sample consisted of 400 people aged 18–60 years and 10 community leaders. Statistics used included frequency distributions, percentages, means, standard deviations, and multiple regression analysis.

The results revealed that: 1) the overall state of human rights law is moderate (X=3.05, SD=0.72); 2) Factors influencing the enforcement of the Anti-Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act, with statistical significance at the .05 level, included public factors, network partners, participation, and development, which were key predictors. The coefficients of the predictors in the raw scores (b) were .670, .037, .031 and .009, respectively, and 3) the development of human rights law in the Roi Kaen-Sarasin area still faces problems and needs to be urgently improved, especially the coordination between related agencies to make problem solving more effective.
