Adoption of the smart senior care system of households in Nanning city, China

Abstract

         This research article aims to study the current status and problems of the intelligent elderly care system of household in Nanning, China and to study the factors affecting the adoption of household intelligent elderly care system. This research is a survey research. The sample consisted of 385 elderly people aged 60 years and above living in Nanning, Guangxi. The research instrument was a questionnaire collected through the website V-Sat application. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to find the mean and standard deviation. Inferential statistics were analyzed using multiple regression with all-import techniques.


         The majority of the sample (52.70%) had never used the system. 53.90% used a smartwatch/smart clock as their device. 53.90% used it several times a day. The importance of the factors, ranked from most to least, was perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, expected efficiency, promoting factors, attitude towards use, social influence, and barriers to use. The factors of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, expected efficiency, promoting factors, attitude towards use, and social influence had a positive influence, while barriers to use had a negative influence on system application, with statistical significance at the .05 level..
