The Promotion of Buddhism According to The View of Phrathepwachirawimon (Sayan Srisura) in Roi Et Province

Abstract

This research aims to 1) study theoretical concepts regarding the promotion of Buddhism, 2) examine the promotion of Buddhism according to the perspective of Phra Thep Wachirawimon (Sayanh Srisura) in Roi Et province, and 3) analyze the promotion of Buddhism according to the perspective of Phra Thep Wachirawimon (Sayanh Srisura) in Roi Et province. This is a documentary research study, primarily analyzing data from relevant documents and research (Review Literature), along with interviews with 10 qualified individuals (monks/individuals). The collected data was then analyzed, synthesized, and presented in a descriptive manner.

The research findings revealed:

1) The theoretical concepts regarding the promotion of Buddhism emphasize the application of Buddhist teachings to the modern social context and the effective management of religious organizations. The focus is on disseminating and practicing Dharma to develop virtue and peace in life. 2) The promotion of Buddhism in Roi Et Province, according to the perspective of Phra Thep Wachirawimon (Sayanh Srisura), emphasizes driving the monastic community's mission in six areas: governance, religious education, dissemination of teachings, public services, social welfare, and educational assistance. The goal is to develop monks, religious institutions, and the public to possess virtue and intellectual strength, serving as the core for sustainable social development in the area. and 3) The concept of promoting Buddhism in Roi Et Province, according to the perspective of Phra Thep Wachirawimon (Sayanh Srisura), emphasizes adapting Buddhist principles to the modern era through the use of technology and modern media for dissemination. It focuses on developing "the people" to possess knowledge and virtue, and building strong "monastic organizations" with good governance to become sustainable spiritual and social leaders.
