A Model of Enhancing Buddhist Identity, Dimensions, Beliefs and Religious Rituals in The Bun Khao Sak Tradition to Build Relationships in Relatives of Communities in Roi Et Province

Abstract

         This research article aims to: 1) study the components and indicators for enhancing Buddhist identity, including the dimensions of beliefs and religious rituals in the Bun Khao Sak tradition, to build relationships in local communities of Roi Et Province, 2) examine the construct validity and construct reliability for enhancing Buddhist identity, including the dimensions of beliefs and religious rituals in the Bun Khao Sak tradition, to build relationships in local communities of Roi Et Province, and 3) develop a model for enhancing Buddhist identity, including the dimensions of beliefs and religious rituals in the Bun Khao Sak tradition, to build kinship relationships in local communities of Roi Et Province. The sample consisted of 384 residents of Roi Et Province. The research instrument was a 5-point rating scale questionnaire. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and confirmatory factor analysis.

         The  research  results  found  that:  1) the components and indicators for enhancing Buddhist identity, including the dimensions of beliefs and religious rituals in the Bun Khao Sak tradition, to build kinship relationships in local communities of Roi Et Province, consisted of three components: 1) religious beliefs, 2) religious rituals, and                3) kinship relationships; 2) the examination of the construct validity and construct reliability of the components and indicators for enhancing Buddhist identity, including the dimensions of beliefs and religious rituals in the Bun Khao Sak tradition, to build kinship relationships in local communities of Roi Et Province, across all 3 main components, 9 sub-components, and 45 indicators, was statistically significant at the .01 level; 3) the model had construct validity, as seen from the values of χ² = 18.867, df = 24, p-value = 0.759, CFI = 1.000, TLI = 1.002, SRMR = 0.062, RMSEA = 0.030, and χ²/df = 0.786. The construct reliability (CR) was 0.987, which is greater than 0.60, indicating that the model is consistent and appropriate for the empirical data.
