Abstract

The purposes of this thematic paper were aimed to : 1) study the local political participation of women,Selaphumi district, Roi et province, 2) compare the local political participation of women,Selaphumi district, Roi et province that have the different age, education and career, 3) collect suggestions on ways to develop the local political participation of women,Selaphumi district, Roi et province. The sample consisted of women voters in Selaphumi district, Roi et province by 396 subjects. The instrument for conducting the research was the five-rating-scale questionnaire endowed with the reliability for the entire issue amounting to 0.89. The statistics exploited for computing data encompassed frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation, and referential statistics of t-test and F-test (One-way ANOVA). by making use computer software package.

The research’s results were found as follows

1) The local political participation of women,Selaphumi district, Roi et province in the overall aspect was Medium level. When talking a single aspect into consideration found that Medium level in all four aspects. Those ranked in descending order of its frequency were:  Election, political activity, Politics of development, and Monitoring the political respectively.

2) Results of the hypothesis testing showed women in Selaphumi district Roi et province at genders, age, educational and careers different Local political involvement the overall and each aspect not difference that inconsistent with the hypothesis of the research. 3) Suggestions on ways to develop the local political participation of women Selaphumi district Roi et province in descending order of first three frequencies. Firstly, local politicians should be more involved in monitoring and investigating corruption than is currently the case. Secondly, they should join in monitoring and monitoring the purchasing of voting rights by local politicians more than they currently are. Finally, they should campaign against corruption more than they currently are.
