Analysis of the Life Cycle Cost and Return of Products from Palmyra Palm in Koei Chai Subdistrict, Chum Saeng District, Nakhon Sawan Province

Abstract

This research studied 1) To study the life cycle costs and returns of products made from Palmyra Palm.  2) To analyze the financial costs and returns of Palmyra Palm products in Koei Chai Sub district, Chum Saeng District, Nakhon Sawan Province. The population consists of 20 entrepreneurs who process products from Palmyra Palm products in Koei Chai Sub district. Data were collected using structured interviews. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean and cost-benefit analysis.

 The study found that: (1) The life cycle cost of products from sugar palm shows that the average total cost for palm sugar is 33,440.12 THB per month, while the average total cost for palm juice is 21,323.32 THB per month. The highest revenue product is palm sugar, with an average income of 50,706.00 THB per month, followed by palm juice, with an average income of 31,080.00 THB per month.  (2) The net profit margin of sugar palm products shows that palm juice has an average monthly net profit margin of 31.39%, while palm sugar has an average monthly net profit margin of 34.05%. The return on investment (ROI) for palm juice is an average of 8.91% per month, and for palm sugar, it is an average of 13.86% per month. The breakeven sales volume for palm juice is an average of 103 bottles per month, and for palm sugar, it is an average of 16 kilograms per month. The breakeven value for palm juice requires sales of 2,060.00 THB per month, and for palm sugar, it requires sales of 960.00 THB per month. Therefore, the quantitative analysis indicates that palm sugar is a more cost-effective product compared to palm juice.
