The operation of internal educational quality assurance of educational institutions under local government organizations, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract
This research article aims to study the operation of internal quality assurance in educational institutions and compare the internal quality assurance practices of these institutions classified by the size of the institution. The sample comprised 265 individuals, including school directors and teachers from local administrative organizations in Chiang Rai Province. The research instrument used was a questionnaire that had been validated by experts to ensure the alignment of the questions with the objectives, with all questions having an IOC value of 1.00. The questionnaire was also piloted (Try Out) with a population not included in the sample, totaling 30 individuals. The researcher collected data personally and analyzed it using computer software, employing statistical methods including percentage, mean, standard deviation, One Way Anova, and pairwise comparison of means, with statistical significance set at .05. The research findings showed that the overall implementation of internal quality assurance in educational institutions under local administrative organizations in Chiang Rai Province was at a high level. When considering specific aspects, the area of self-assessment report preparation had the highest average, followed by the implementation according to the educational management development plan of the institution. The area of preparing the educational management development plan focused on quality according to educational standards had the lowest average. For hypothesis testing, it was found that educational institutions under local administrative organizations in Chiang Rai Province of different sizes had significantly different internal quality assurance operations at the .05 level. Smaller educational institutions have different internal quality assurance operations compared to larger and special-sized educational institutions. Additionally, medium-sized educational institutions have different internal quality assurance operations compared to special-sized educational institutions.
