Public participation in community development in Pamaingam Subdistrict Mueang District Nong Bua Lamphu Province

Abstract

         The objectives of this research paper are: 1. To study public participation in community development. 2. To compare public participation in community development with different personal characteristics and 3. To propose ways to improve public participation in the development of communities in Pa Mai Ngam Sub-district, Muang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province, which is quantitative and qualitative research. The sample was determined from a population of 6,842 people using Taro Yamane's formula. The sample size was 378 people. Data were collected using questionnaires and interviews. It has a content validity value ranging from 0.67-1.00 and a reliability of .957. Data analysis uses statistics: percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test.

         The results showed that: 1. Public participation in community development as a whole is at a high level. 2. A comparison of public participation in community development found that respondents of different genders and ages participated in all aspects of community development no differently, and respondents with different levels of education and occupation participated significantly differently in all aspects of community development at a level of 0.01. 3. Suggestions for community development Participation in decision-making There should be an opportunity to attend meetings with local leaders to address the needs of the community. Participation in the implementation of the project should be involved in the implementation of the community development plan. Participation in receiving benefits should be carried out in accordance with the needs of the people, and participation in the evaluation should be involved as an audit committee member in the implementation of projects according to the community development plan.
