THE PROBLEMS AND ACADEMIC SELF-DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF TEACHERS IN SCHOOLS UNDER SPECIAL EDUCATION BUREAU IN MAE HONG SON PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the problems and academic self - development needs of teachers in schools under Special Education Bureau in Mae Hong Son province 2) study methods for the academic self - development needs of teachers in schools under Special Education Bureau in Mae Hong Son province. The sample of this research consisted of teachers who teach students with special needs in Mae Hong Son Special Education center, Suksasongkroh Mae Hong Son School, Rajaprajanugroh 21 School, Rajaprajanugroh 22 School, Rajaprajanugroh 34 School, totaling 52 persons. The qualified target group that approved the guidelines for the academic self-development of teachers were school administrators and the head of the personnel administration group by purposive sampling from knowledgeable people with experience in personnel management from 2 years up. The research tools were a questionnaires. The reliability of the problems and academic self - development was 0.98 and academic self - development needs was 0.99. And form for approval. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and Friedman test.The results of the study were as followed: 1) the problems of academic self - development needs of teachers in schools under Special Education Bureau in Mae Hong Son province as a whole and all aspects were at a high level except curriculum development. And the academic self - development needs of teachers in schools under Special Education Bureau in Mae Hong Son province as a whole and all aspects were at a high level. 2) the methods for the academic self - development needs of teachers in schools under Special Education Bureau in Mae Hong Son province were observational study, participation in training and seminar meetings and seeking information from the media
