THE DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINABLE LOCAL WISDOM THROUGH THE BUDDHIST RITUALS

Abstract

          The development of sustainable local wisdom includes various processes and methods. Some processes rely on economic principles and some processes rely on the drive of the government in order to: place the importance on various local wisdoms; focus on preserving, restoring, continuing, transferring and sustainably developing the wisdom. The local wisdom development process through Buddhist rituals is a new alternative in creating the processes of preservation, restoration, continuity, transfer, and sustainable development of the local wisdom. This is due to the mindful commitment called “Faith”.To sustainably develop local wisdom through Buddhist rituals, it can be implemented by applying Dhamma in Tipitaka into community temple activities that contribute to local wisdom development and extension of sustainable community economic base.
