DEVELOPMENT OF DEMOCRACY AND POLITICAL SELF-EXPRESSION IN THE AREA OF DANKWEAN SUBDISTRICT ADMINISTRATIVE QRGANIZATION

Abstract

This research aimed to 1. Study the development of democracy and the courage to express oneself in politics in Dan Kwian Subdistrict Administrative Organization 2. Study the level of cooperation in developing democracy and the courage to express oneself in politics in Dan Kwian Subdistrict Administrative Organization 3. Guidelines for developing democracy and the courage to express oneself in politics in Dan Kwian Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The research methodology was mixed-methods: qualitative research, in-depth interviews with 25 people, descriptive data analysis, and quantitative research. A questionnaire was used to collect data. The sample size was 353 people. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

The research results found that: 1. Development of democracy and courage to express oneself politically in the area of ​​Dan Kwian Subdistrict Administrative Organization. People participate in political activities organized by the state, showing their participation in democratic politics, emphasizing various forms of election activities at the local to national levels. 2. The level of participation in democratic development and the courage to express one's political identity in the Dan Kwian Subdistrict Administrative Organization is at a moderate level overall. The aspect with the highest average value is participation in democratic development activities, followed by the aspect of expressing one's political identity with close friends. The aspect with the lowest average value is the aspect of expressing one's political identity in the community. 3. Guidelines for developing democracy and the courage to express one's political identity in the Dan Kwian Subdistrict Administrative Organization area. The community participates in election activities but does not express political identity to support individuals or representatives of various political groups, but expresses it only with close individuals. In developing democracy, the state must create confidence that political identity will not cause harm or conflict in the community.
