Fighting Concept in Kruba Chao Srivichai Philosophy: Analytical Study

Abstract

          The objectives of this paper are this study aims to 1) study Fighting Concept in Kruba Chao Srivichai Philosophy 2) analysis Fighting Concept in Kruba Chao Srivichai Philosophy. In the era when Siam severely occupied the local areas under the policy of centralizing both the kingdom and the church to the center in Bangkok only, resulting in the struggle for freedom of local leaders frequently appearing. However, there is still a problem that in the midst of such a situation, what is the concept of struggle of Khru Ba Chao Srivichai, the great monk of Lanna? The author needs to conduct a philosophical research with the following frameworks for study and analysis: 1. The goal of the Fighting 2. The way to achieve the goal of the Fighting 3. The method of practice for humans to achieve the goal of the Fighting 4. The value of the method of practice for humans to achieve the goal of the Fighting, based on historical evidence that shows the concept of Fighting in the perspective of Khru Ba Chao Srivichai. The results of the study and analysis found that the concept of struggle in the perspective of Khru Ba Chao Srivichai arose from the idea of Buddhism in the Lanna culture, with the proposition that humans in the world are not free because everyone in the world is dominated by the power of attachment. Therefore, the goal of human struggle is to aim for the state of liberation from the power dominated by attachment. The way to achieve the goal of human struggle is the Bodhisattva path. The practice to achieve the goal of human struggle is to cultivate merit to become enlightened as a Buddha. The value of the practice to achieve the goal of human struggle is to build a center of the masses, emphasizing the public benefit, not personal benefit. Therefore, human freedom must be free from the power of obsession, relying on faith in the compassion of the Buddha and the wisdom of the Buddha as the main principle. As for the condition of the struggle of Kru Ba Chao Srivichai, it is the innocence of those who have the consciousness that if there is no Mara, merit will not arise.
